Brighton & Hove Albion Study Support Centre
The first of the centres and leads the way for community based study support centres based within football clubs.
Based
at Withdean, Albion's Study Support Centre provides free courses for Brighton
and Hove residents wishing to gain basic knowledge Iin Information Technology
(IT) or to improve their computer, literacy or numeracy skills.
We also offer special School Leavers/Job Seeker's courses focusing on the
general skills necessary to get a job. All our courses offer a flexible
and relaxed way to learn and some can lead to nationally recognised qualifications.
Introductory Session
For all first-time visitors, this three-hour session is a no-obligation introduction to our courses. This offers you the chance to talk to one of our tutors about your requirements first hand; they will assess your needs, provide you with a taster of the course content and recommend the right course for you. There are some forms to fill-out with basic details about yourself, and our tutor will guide you with this. Pre-booking is essential.
Computer Beginners
Whether you have never used a computer or whether you have had some limited experience, our friendly tutors can help you. Start from the very beginning or focus on the specific area that you wish to learn or revise.
Choose from as few or as many of our workbook based modules as you need: word processing, spreadsheets or internet/email. Our tutors are on hand to show you how, and you can work at whatever pace suits you. Completing all three Beginners modules can form a preparatory base to the ECDL course for those who wish to progress to a formal qualification.
